All refrigerators make noises. The normal operation of your refrigerator causes some noises and sounds. These sounds are normal and there is no need to worry unless the sound is constant and unfamiliar.

There are many different parts and components in your refrigerator. When the temperature changes inside of the refrigerator, these parts and components may expand or shrink. These sounds of expanding and shrinking are normal.
A hum or click sound can be heard when the icemaker fills with water.
The water inlet valve can make noises when it allows water to enter the refrigerator for the icemaker or the water dispenser system. When water enters the refrigerator, the water inlet valve can make a “popping” sound.
When the defrost timer switches on and off a variety of noises can be heard such as clicking, knocking or gurgling.
If the fan is misaligned, it may make a popping noise. Also, a change in fan speed when the refrigerator responds to changes in temperature may results in a slight popping noise.
As the damper door in your refrigerator closes or opens, a chirping or barking sound can be heard.
When the temperature control unit turns the unit on and off, a click may be heard.
When the unit is running, it may cause noises such as gurgling, knocking or popping.
A “popping” noise can be heard when the evaporator coils on certain fridge models are cooling after defrost.
